In 1981, the Beyti family opened two doors on Park Avenue: a small dining room and a Turkish butcher shop — the first restaurant in the United States dedicated to Turkish cuisine. For homesick families across North Jersey, it was the first place in America that tasted like home.
Four decades later the room has grown, but nothing about the standard has moved. The bread is baked to order, the meat is cut in-house, and everything that matters still crosses live charcoal.
